Canadian Bacon (1995)
Director: Michael Moore
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Moore took a mischievous but pointed look at American mores in Roger & Me and in his small-screen series TV Nation. This satirical sideswipe at the Land of the Free is, however, a stifferoonie. The plot has one joke: hard-pressed US President Alda, a fumbling liberal in the Clinton tradition, needs a war, or something, to up his ratings and win a second term, but after the end of the Cold War there are no enemies left - so the White House staff decide to take on the evil empire to the north, Canada! Dismal days.Author: TJ
