Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

Totally pedestrian, directionless dirge concerning a house built upon Indian land whose cellar is home to a living, breathing folk-devil. With over half the running-time spent establishing the existence of the beast in question, the final arrival of a man in a rubber suit walking on all fours is irritatingly laughable. This is really an innocuous Saturday morning kids' movie, complete with a young hero whose father gets angry when his son screams about 'monsters', but who finally realises the error of his ways: 'I was afraid you wouldn't love me if you thought that I was scared,' he opines as the whole family indulges in a wholesome hug. Pass me that bucket, I'm gonna throw up.
