The Challenge (1982)
Director: John Frankenheimer
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Kung-fu action thriller set in Tokyo which pits the samurai tradition of honourable combat against the new westernised Japan of guns and super-capitalism. The elaborate combat will please fans, but anyone not much engaged by martial arts as a genre will soon find themselves pretty bored despite the script's occasional ironies. The Yakuza did it all so much better.Author: DP
