Chamber of Horrors (1966)
Director: Hy Averback
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Pilot for a TV series based on House of Wax and intended to feature Danova and Hyde-White as owners of a wax museum who dabble in criminology. Judged too gruesome for TV (O'Neal, as the Baltimore Strangler, hacks off his own manacled hand in escaping from the police, later ends up impaled on a hook), it was expanded into a feature, with a Fear Flasher and Horror Horn as silly gimmicks. Tacky stuff, but it has its luridly bizarre moments and a nice performance from O'Neal as the seemingly indestructible homicidal maniac.Author: TM
