Chato's Land (1971)
Director: Michael Winner
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Bronson and Winner united in their usual sledge-hammer style as Charlie plays a half-breed Apache hunted for murder, and Palance leads a posse in pursuit. They rape his wife, and the Indian plots and watches their downfall. There are attempts in Gerald Wilson's script to say something about racism and violence, and some critics have even suggested parallels with the disastrous American involvement in Vietnam; but in Winner's hands, it's just a rag-bag of muddled clichés.Author: GA
