From Time Out Film Guide

Rarely seen shocker, released in the US as Psycho-Circus. Genn plays a dogged, elderly detective investigating an armoured truck robbery. All the evidence points to a local circus, but other suspects include a masked lion tamer (Lee), a jittery knife thrower (Kaufmann) and various other clowns. Worse, the corpses are beginning to stack up. The film-makers never seem quite sure whether they're making a thriller or a horror pic. No wonder Genn looks so confused.
