Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

A somewhat tacky pendant to Peeping Tom, featuring Diffring as a plastic surgeon obsessed by female disfigurement. Obliged to flee after a cosmetic operation goes horribly wrong, he takes to running a travelling circus with his refurbished beauties as performers; there, tangled motives of jealousy and revenge stir up an outlandish blood-bath in which most of the cast are eliminated one by one (incidentally gratifying the sensation-seeking circus audience with a knife-throwing accident, a nosedive from the big top, and a mauling by lion's jaws). Perhaps inspired by Les Yeux sans Visage, it misses out on Franju's wild poetry but is undeniably bizarre and bloody.
