Goliath and the Barbarians (1959)
Director: Carlo Campogalliani
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
AD 568: The Longobards sack Verona, in the process killing the father of young Emiliano, aka Goliath (Reeves, aka Mr Universe). Goliath organises a guerilla band, counterattacks, and is taken prisoner. He falls in love with the daughter of his captor, a barbarian duke. Everything works out, thanks to Goliath returning the sacred crown of the Longobard king. After much bloodshed Emiliano marries the girl (Alonso). Kitsch fare from that fondly remembered, but in fact irredeemably tacky age of TotalScope Italian epics.Author: JPy
