Piranha II: Flying Killers (1981)
Director: James Cameron
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
A copy rather than a sequel, this has none of the intelligence, wit or tempo that graced the first swarm of hungry fish. With ruthless resort-owners again refusing to jeopardise their dollars for the sake of their guests' safety, the film relies unimaginatively on the puritanical notion that pleasure invites punishment. Tanned flesh is appetisingly displayed, to be torn to shreds by appallingly squeaky fish-models, and the drunken lechery of the holidaymakers seems far more responsible than profit lust for the final bloodshed. That bare-breasted women and a young black deaf-mute are on the menu makes it very clear who is considered fit to survive and who isn't.Author: RB
