Poor Cow (1967)
Director: Kenneth Loach
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Not a patch upon Loach's best work, largely because he falls into all the usual traps of kitchen sink realism as he follows the fortunes of a dismal teenage girl (White), saddled with a criminal husband (Bindon, typecast), living with a prostitute aunt (Watts) while he's inside, falling for the husband's mate (Stamp), then going back to the aunt and further troubles when he gets nicked too. Relentlessly sordid, and not helped by the unusual move (for Loach) of using name actors.Author: GA

- Posted on Nov 25 2008 15:59 i hope the update of this movie gets better reviews - some of the ladies at the local theatre community called the dream centre have been considering putting money together to make their own version - good luck - it sure is a story that seem to constantly repeat itself -especially in hollywood
