From Time Out Film Guide

Ron'n'Nancy's only screen appearance together is the chief reason why anyone still remembers this dull WWII actioner, from a book by CA Lockwood and Hans Christian Adamson. On a US Navy sub out to attack Japanese merchant shipping, Capt Reagan hits conflict with Chief Officer Franz over command decisions which may have been influenced by feelings for Miss Davis. (Actually scripted by the blacklisted Bernard Gordon.
