Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

Brave venture for the fiercely independent Platts-Mills (who had been silent since making Bronco Bullfrog and Private Road over ten years previously): a Gaelic-speaking epic set in the fifth century, shot on some beautiful locations along the south-west coast of Scotland, and telling the tale of a young knight-errant who joins the band of 'heroes' led by Finn MacCool and sung by the bard Ossian. The non-professional cast, alas, are distressingly amateurish, and since the script seems half-strangled in what it is trying to say, the result looks not unlike a clumping village pageant.
