Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

A Nickelodeon cartoon feature in which gutsy kids rally to save the neighbourhood from an evil corporation. 'Football-head' Arnold leads the opposition to developer Scheck with schemes like a local 'Blockapalooza' festival. Meanwhile, Arnold's adversary Helga (the show's real prima donna) is feverishly enamoured with him and becomes a clandestine ally. Unlike the Powerpuff Girls movie, this doesn't particularly explode in big screen proportions. Still, the coloured pencil tones and quirky-looking characters are likeable, and the plot cuts the sentimentalism with sarky wit and minimum schmaltz.
