Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

Capra's penultimate movie lacks the resonance of his '30s work, and is a fairly wilful attempt to make our hearts heave. Sinatra plays the widowed (with small son) owner of a peeling Miami Beach hotel which is about to be foreclosed by the banks. Robinson is his elder brother, and Parker is a lonely widow who might have the money to save the hotel, but Sinatra isn't that much of a heel. Frank sings 'High Hopes', and despite some good moments, one wishes the whole thing was a musical.
