An inferior reworking of The Thing from Another World, which still manages to keep interest alive despite some poor special effects, a flat jokiness and stereotype characters. The idea itself is intriguing enough: anthropologist Lee's ancient fossil found in China, believed to be the missing link, comes back to life on the Trans-Siberian railway, adding the knowledge of its victims to its own. From their first greeting of 'Well, well, look who's here!', Lee and his arch-rival Cushing, at their most urbane, ensure that it remains watchable, while the express train setting keeps it all moving at a better speed than it perhaps deserves.Author: CPe
