The Hot Box (1972)
Director: Joe Viola
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Though co-scripted and produced by Jonathan Demme, a film so hampered by basic lack of skill that an interesting storyline becomes buried under a whole load of destructive ambiguities. Four American Peace Corps nurses are kidnapped by the Revolutionary Army of a Latin American republic to teach medical aid. Having tasted ill-treatment by Government forces, they become sufficiently convinced of the rightness of the cause to fight a bloody battle on the revolutionaries' side. Their 'enlightenment', though, remains a perfunctory foible of the plot.Author: VG
