The Mad Genius (1931)
Director: Michael Curtiz
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Barrymore enjoys himself immensely in this ripe horror effort as a demented and crippled Svengali figure who takes over the running of a ballet company. Alberni is way, way over the top as the drugged dancing master, and Boris Karloff pops up as the sadistic dad. The finale, which involves a brutal murder in the middle of a ballet performance, is well worth the wait.Author: TJ
