Man in the Wilderness (1971)
Director: Richard C Sarafian
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
The team that had such a success with A Man Called Horse decided to try their luck again with this sensationalist bit of cod anthropology based on a true story. In the 1820s, the guide to a fur-trapping expedition in the great North West is left by his captain to die after being savaged by a grizzly. His desire for revenge is expiated after he faces the violence of nature and several gruelling Indian tribal rituals. Explicit, simplistic, and if you've seen A Man Called Horse, highly predictable.Author: GA
