The Millionairess (1960)
Director: Anthony Asquith
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Absurd casting of Loren at the hands of husband Carlo Ponti and indifferent scripting by Wolf Mankowitz were poor beginnings for this turgid adaptation of Shaw's play. Millionairess in search of husband lights on poor humanitarian Indian doctor played by Sellers. The Shavian wit is dissipated somewhere between the glamorisation of Loren and the 'funny' Indian accent of Sellers which serves as mouthpiece for the familiar socialist message-mongering.Author: RM
