Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

In a baroque room dominated by a champagne glass-shaped bath and the giggling beauty queen in it, the Minotaur, a balding, overweight, burnt-out '50s entertainer (Elvis with shades of John Belushi?), injects and ingests an insane cocktail of drugs and drink. The expensive camp setting points up the tawdriness of his behaviour, but his raw hysteria and explosive violence are punctuated by quieter reminiscences of his heyday and childhood. Stunningly designed, fluidly filmed and boldly acted, this provocative meditation on celebrity is both terrifying and exhilarating.
