Morons from Outer Space (1985)
Director: Mike Hodges
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
This ineptly combines lamebrain comedy and sci-fi adventure, two of Hollywood's most popular genres of the last decade. Four dimwitted aliens get lost in space, crash on the M1, and are adopted by Rhys Jones, who immediately recognises their potential as pop stars and chat show persons. The whole mess ends with the rock concert now obligatory in a certain type of British movie. Both Hodges (Get Carter, Pulp) and Smith & Jones (Not the Nine O'Clock News), who also scripted, have promising track records; but here, despite straining every sinew desperately, they provide a minimal quotient of chuckles.Author: RR
