My Little Pony (1986)
Director: Michael Jones
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
An animated feature hopefully plugging the My Little Pony line in toys. Pretty Ponyland is threatened with manic monochrome by the wicked witch Hydia and her evil slime, Smooze. Utter Flutter provides salvation, but don't ask what it is, because the queasy colours, screeching voices, and songs of staggering banality make paying attention difficult. Jejune in conception, devoid of talent in realisation, this painful dross perpetrates its own critique when Reeka (or was it Draggle? One of the witch's daughters, anyway) remarks on seeing her spell fail, 'How embarrassing, I'm going home.'Author: MS
