Santiago (1956)
Director: Gordon Douglas
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Formula adventure, with gun-running mercenary Ladd discovering conscience, cause and commonsense when righteously 'politicised' by the passion of Cuban patriot (1898 version) Rossana Podesta. Martin Rackin produced and co-scripted to protect his own novel from too much imaginative input, while director Douglas - fresh from the lunacies of the Liberace showcase Sincerely Yours - treated the whole thing as a cakewalk.Author: PT
