Secrets (1992)
Director: Michael Pattinson
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
On the day the Beatles arrive in Melbourne, the accompanying scrum at the hotel sees five teenagers accidentally locked in the basement, where confined surroundings force them to reveal the innermost longings behind their fandom, or indeed hatred of the Fab Four. This antipodean cross between 'I Wanna Hold Your Hand' and The Breakfast Club is intriguing for its opening archive footage, but screenwriter Jan Sardi (Shine) makes the characters and their revelations all too cut-and-dried. Taylor, though, is engaging as a self-proclaimed man of the world, complete with fake Scouse accent.Author: TJ
