Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

Brandauer, an arresting screen actor, notably in Szabo's Mephisto and Colonel Redl, turns plodding director for this functional fact-based thriller, adapted by Stephen Sheppard from his novel The Artisan. Brandauer stars as the Munich clockmaker Georg Elser who intends to assassinate Hitler when he visits a nearby beer hall. But the waitress Elser's in love with is scheduled to be on duty in the hall at the time set for the killing. Dennehy gets on with the job as the Gestapo security chief.
