Shoddily mounted populist pap, with our Gracie as a singing barmaid taking the plight of the Clydeside shipyard workers to heart, masquerading farcically as an American star to bulldoze her way to the Minister concerned, and making such an impassioned plea that their jobs are saved. Her last British film before her departure for America, it ends glutinously with her rendition of 'Land of Hope and Glory' as royalty launches a new liner.
