Simba (1955)
Director: Brian Desmond Hurst
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Rank's attempt to wring drama from Kenya's Mau Mau rising is not surprisingly riddled with colonial assumptions (the source novel was by Anthony Perry), but as Bogarde joins McKenna and policeman Sinden on the family farm in the district where violence has been most extreme, some attempt at least is made to explain the rebels' point of view. The problem, however, is plausibility. The stars never left Pinewood and it shows.Author: TJ
