Repeating the teaming first aired in Silver Streak, Pryor plays a street-sussed cynic, the perfect foil to Wilder's (by now tedious) ingenuous naif. In the first and funniest half, these no-hopers, disenchanted with the Broadway melody, head for Hollywood in seach of...well, it doesn't matter. Halfway there, they get framed for a bank robbery and end up in clink serving a 125-year sentence, where the golden moment occurs (Pryor doing a chicken impersonation in an attempt to 'look ba-a-a-a-d, look mean'). Maybe the disruption caused by Pryor's accident taxed their imaginations, or maybe the slapstick's just too wild; mildly amusing, at best.Author: FL
