The Strange Case of Dr Rx (1942)
Director: William Nigh
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
A routine but fast-moving whodunit with horror-comedy overtones as private eye Knowles, pursuing a masked killer, is threatened with a gorilla brain transplant. This is merely bluff, alas, designed to scare him out of his wits while the killer pursues his purpose: eliminating a series of shady businessmen whom justice has failed to deal with. Atwill is great fun in a red herring role as the sinister, aptly-named Dr Fish, and the underrated Woody Bredell contributes some nicely creepy camerawork.Author: TM
