The Survivors (1983)
Director: Michael Ritchie
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
When executive Robin Williams is fired by a parrot because his boss cannot cope with confrontations, one has high hopes. And even when Matthau's garage blows up, the movie is still amusing. But shortly afterwards, when the two stars meet on the dole queue, witness a hold-up and become targets for a hit-man, the ideas evaporate. Matthau and Williams look good on the marquees, but actually they fail to play well together, mainly because the script has not been tailor-made to their requirements. Produced by Ray Stark, it's a bland piece of merchandise.Author: ATu
