The Iceman Cometh (1989)
Director: Clarence Fok Yiu-Leung
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
For reasons too complicated to explain, ancient antagonists Ah Ching (Yuen Biao, the good guy) and Fung San (Yuen Wah, the bad guy) are frozen alive in a glacier. The modern scientists who discover their entwined bodies take them as proof that homosexuality existed in imperial China, but no love is lost between them when they are defrosted and reanimated in present day Hong Kong. This is the cue for a barrage of serio-comic fight scenes, Buddhist mythology and special visual effects, much enhanced by Maggie Cheung's way with the stock character of a brassy hooker.Author: TR
