I'm No Angel (1933)
Director: Wesley Ruggles
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Single-handed, Mae saved Paramount from bankruptcy and provoked the birth of the League of Decency. I'm No Angel contains an extraordinary scene in which she's tended by a bevy of black maids ('Hey, Beulah! Peel me a grape'). Sexism coupled with racism. You can't beat it. Grant, Mae's protégé, once said 'I learned everything from her. Well, almost everything.' The films are pretty awful, but no one ever notices. Mae still lays them in the aisles.Author: SG
