From Time Out Film Guide

A remake of Sirk's 1958 film about a young girl who falls in love with a married musician seemed a bizarre choice for Billington's first film. Updated to contemporary London and featuring an Evening Standard journalist as the heroine, it is an often successful attempt to relate the clichéd story to people working and living against a precisely drawn (albeit trendy) background. Billington mercifully avoids the excesses of 'Swinging London', and his observant delineation of the discrepancy between the characters' would-be sophistication and their actual stock responses is, on the whole, well supported by the performances.

Posted on Feb 15 2008 09:44 I have seen the movie "the Interlude" in the '60s? I enjoyed the music more than the movie itself. I have been looking for the soundtrack of the movie in the CD format. I could not found it anywhere. Anyone out there may know ? Thanks.

Posted on Nov 15 2007 07:14 I remember seeing the movie when I was in my early 20's and was totally smitten with it. So sad and also very romantic. Just the thing for a young impressionable woman.
I am amazed to read other comments on how many people have seen it on TV. I never have but I have thought about it from time to time and also wondered if in this technological age it might be available on DVD or Video. I have neve found one. I certainly would support the idea of it being re released in such a format or being re released for the big screen. So glad I found this site and would love to know when and if a DVD becomes available.
