Invasion (1966)
Director: Alan Bridges
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Strikingly imaginative little sci-fi thriller in which two Oriental women, actually aliens but peaceful in intent, throw a force field round a hospital while attempting to retrieve a colleague, a criminal who escaped from their charge and has been knocked down by a car. Little happens as the telephones go dead and panic mounts in the hospital along with the temperature, but the sense of threat from the unknown becomes almost tangible as Bridges weaves his Losey-influenced camera through shadowy landscapes, or lets it linger broodingly on innocent objects until they begin to acquire an air of alien malevolence.Author: TM
