Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

One of those cases of long-lost family rashly turning up unexpectedly and causing radical (also unlikely) changes in peoples' personalities. This time it's the daughter, the unbearably cute and outspoken Libby (Manoff), who sets off for Hollywood to seek fame and her father (Matthau), last seen when she was in diapers. Matthau is a grumpy, scared bachelor who has given up on work and relationships, and who, until transformed by his daughter, is driving his sensible girlfriend (Ann-Margret) into the arms of another man. Far too few jokes to soak up Neil Simon's soggy material.
