It Started with Eve (1941)
Director: Henry Koster
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Far better than most Durbin vehicles, enlivened no end by the presence of Laughton as the cantankerous old millionaire who insists on meeting his grandson's fiancée before he dies. The girl can't be reached and so Durbin, a hatcheck girl, is enlisted to deceive the old man, with predictable complications. Cheerful and charming, although one could well do without the chirpy songs warbled by Durbin.Author: GA
