It Takes Two (1995)
Director: Andy Tennant
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Brooklyn: spinster and orphanage worker Diane (Alley) wants to adopt her favourite charge, spunky nine-year-old Amanda (Mary-Kate Olsen). Trouble is, she's still looking for Mr Right, and the adoption authorities would rather she'd already found him. Upstate New York: widower Roger (Guttenberg), millionaire and part-time parent, would like to find a new mum for his daughter, pristine nine-year-old Alyssa (Ashley Olsen). Trouble is, he's just got engaged to gold-digging Clarice Kensington (Sibbett), and Alyssa would rather she took her claws out of him. Funnily enough, Amanda and Alyssa are identical strangers. Two comedy genres - mistaken identity and true romance - are married in forgettable fashion. And, alas, the Olsen girls are not immediately heart-warming.Author: NB
