Rally 'round the Flag, Boys! (1958)
Director: Leo McCarey
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
A roundly botched farce about the uproar in a small community when a missile base is planned in the area. A good example of Hollywood's hesitant efforts to get with it in the late '50s, with fashionable subject matter (sex and the bomb), hip stars (Newman, struggling in the days before he learned to play comedy), and unwarranted CinemaScope fittings. It backfires grandly, of course.Author: TCh
