Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

Somewhat reminiscent of a female American Goodbye, Mr Chips, this expertly crafted school story has Colbert as the teacher who inspires future presidential candidate Croft during his formative years, but who shatters his youthful crush on her by falling for fellow tutor Payne. It's all told in nostalgic flashback, and controls the ebb and flow of laughter and tears with old-school command.
