Return of the Living Dead III (1993)
Director: Brian Yuzna
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Retaining the jokiness of Dan O'Bannon's original, and a marked improvement on Ken Weiderhorn's lame sequel, Yuzna gets back to basics with a mutated Romeo and Juliet storyline, an anti-military theme, some fetishistic zombie make-up, and a surprisingly bleak ending. Unable to cope with the death of new girlfriend Julie (Clarke), army brat Kurt (Edmond) employs the experimental methods developed by his scientist father for use on captive zombies to bring her back from the dead. Yuzna and fx maestro Steve Johnson put human flesh on the plot's bare bones, without ever losing sight of the central offbeat romance.Author: NF
