Action for Slander (1937)
Director: Tim Whelan
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Upright stuff with Brook, the quintessential Englishman, being spitefully accused of cheating at cards by the husband of a woman with whom Brook is infatuated. He may be a bounder but he's not a cad, and he insists (at the cost of his good name and his army career) on proving it in court. Ann Todd (as his wife) does a passable imitation of a volcano about to blow, and Margaretta Scott has a ball as the 'other woman'. It's sincere enough but all rather leaden.Author: MA
