The Adventures of Frontier Fremont (1976)
Director: Richard Friedenberg
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Mountain-man Jacob Fremont (a wimpy Jeremiah Johnson for juniors) attempts to find harmony in nature, sporting a bushy beard, conversing endlessly ('Best thing Ah ever dun was ter lose mah gun') with the local Indians, and clearing evil crittur-killin' trappers off his mountain. Predatory adult animals he scares off merely with his shout (or is it Haggerty's acting?). This idealised, ecologically-sound, pastoral adventure seems to please young kids; but you grown-ups'd be plumb crazy to mosey along to see it.Author: GA
