American Flyers (1985)
Director: Paula Weinstein, John Badham
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
A pleasant, straight-down-the-road, cliché-ridden ride with two brothers (Costner and Grant) battling against a hysterical mother, a potentially fatal inheritance (cerebral aneurism), fraternal rivalry and fear of flying, and finally teaming up one last time for the gruelling 'Hell of the West' bicycle race in Golden Colorado. Badham and scriptwriter Steve Tesich keep the syrup and scenery flowing along nicely, and there's always Chong and Paul to lead the cheers.Author: WH
