Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
A seven-strong documentary film crew, sailing the mighty Amazon in search of a lost tribe, pick up stranded cruiser Voight. Before long he's telling them of his encounter with the elusive Shirishama tribe, and guiding them down unfamiliar tributaries. He's also beginning to act strangely, and worse, the direction in which they're heading is home to a 40ft man-eating snake. And then there were six, five, four... Voight, permanently OTT, wears a fixed scowl and tries a funny accent. The plot, meanwhile, meanders more than the river, through a series of time-filling false alarms before we get down to the big signposted main course. One never questions the realism of the remarkable animatronic and computer-generated effects, but it's hard to credit a snake that screams.Author: DA
