Androcles and the Lion (1952)
Director: Chester Erskine
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Producer-elect to Bernard Shaw for Pygmalion, Major Barbara and Caesar and Cleopatra, Gabriel Pascal foundered in Hollywood with this pompously stagebound and unhappily cast spectacular which simply ambles through the play. The original casting of Harpo Marx as Androcles (he was fired by Howard Hughes after five weeks' shooting) might have been really something.Author: TM
