Angel in Exile (1948)
Director: Allan Dwan, Philip Ford
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Low-budget drama about an ex-con who travels to Mexico to regain his hidden loot of gold, only to undergo a character transformation under the influence of a good woman and the local peasants who acclaim him as a saint. Carroll makes a wooden lead, but the supporting cast and Dwan's fluency with narrative (Ford took over direction for a week while he was ill) make it watchable.Author: GA
