Anne of the Thousand Days (1969)
Director: Charles Jarrott
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Interminable plod through the story of Henry the Eighth and Anne Boleyn, sticking mainly to domestic trivia with dialogue to match. The few attempts at pageantry founder in an uneasy mixture of real locations and stagy sets, with the odd appalling painted backdrop thrown in. Burton plays throughout on a monotonous note of bluff ferocity, while Bujold remains sweetly vacuous.Author: TM
