From Time Out Film Guide

Backstage musical with Baxter as a burlesque producer from the wrong side of town who tries to make it big on Broadway. Mona Barrie is the leech-like socialite who marries him, then bleeds him dry of all his cash. Alice Faye is on hand to soothe him back to success in the final reel. The song and dance is chipper enough, but the storyline needs more beef. Fats Waller makes a rare (but brief) appearance.
