Originally made in Cinerama, this takes as its starting point the world's most spectacular recorded natural disaster; and then, just to make things a little more interesting, adds a mutiny, sunken hidden treasure, a new type of diving bell, balloonists galore, an orphan boy, a fire, and even a little bit of strip-tease. In short, for disaster movie addicts only; and as reviewers everywhere gleefully pointed out, Krakatoa is west of Java.
