Teachers (1984)
Director: Arthur Hiller
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
This is about wastage in the field of education. But the film manages to waste: Nolte, playing a disillusioned teacher with all the fire of a tranquillised tiger; fine character actors like Royal Dano and Allen Garfield; and, finally, a potentially dynamic subject. Hiller's sledgehammer direction turns the problems common in education into an endless parade of clichés, feebly propped up by wacky humour, inarticulacy, ham and corn. Avoid.Author: GA
